Please label all tubes and specimen containers with the patient's full name & DOB or ID. Record the date & time of collection on the specimen and the request form. Do not place SST tubes in the fridge or on ice unless indicated in the "Special Conditions".

Shipment of Specimens:

Specimens should be received in the Clinical Genetics Laboratory within 24 hours of collection unless. Note some tests require that samples must receive immediately; if unsure please give as a call. Our laboratory is open from Monday to Friday 7:30-13:00 and 16:00-19:00 and Saturday 8:00-13:30.

Please store samples at 4°C temperature until it is can be send; with the exception of DNA samples all other samples must NOT freeze (for DNA samples please see instruction for DNA samples). Ideally, specimens should be collected and shipped early in the week to avoid a weekend delivery.
